Shine On (All You Crazy Blogworld Diamonds)

And...we're back!

Plenty to come this week, including my list of 50 Things To Love About Nashville (Part I on Wednesday, Part II Friday).

In the meantime, do what you do and check out Song #4 from the Edgehill Demos at Myspace. It's called "Shine" and it's available for FREE DOWNLOAD, along with "Nightshift Town" and "Don't Give Up On Me Now." Space issues made me bump off "Tin Angel," but fret not--you can still buy it from the Snocap store right there on the Myspace page! Safe, and easy--like my last girlfriend.

Also, a quick look at the Myspace and Facebook pages will show you that new photos abound. I've gotten a lot of questions about what talented photographers are responsible for these new pictures, and I'm happy to oblige.

The "live" pictures--taken at Mercy Lounge for this year's Christmas show--were taken by Carie Burchfield-Thompson. Carie has worked with a veritable who's who of Nashville artists, and is an incredibly talented photographer. Very few people have an eye for seeing the artist as they want to be seen, and bringing the absolute best out of them. She gets straight to the heart of the person, or scene, or moment, and has an absolutely unique style. Her pictures are gorgeous, and she's a pleasure to work with.

The "press" photos--taken right before Christmas--were shot by Jaclyn Boutwell, another local photog. Jaclyn's relatively new to the Nashville scene and has already become a favorite among musicians and models in the area. My favorite thing about Jaclyn's work is that she's incredibly versatile; some photographers have photos that look like them, but Jaclyn's extremely gifted at listening to your vision and creating the look that's right for you. She also has a knack for making you feel comfortable, loose, and spontaneous at all times--crucial to any good photo session. She really knows how to get the best out of anyone--even this guy.

For every musician in the Nashville area who needs some new photos taken--live shots, or press photos, or anything else--please visit their sites and hit Carie and Jaclyn up. I can't recommend them enough. They're great to work with, extremely talented, and really affordable. Even if you're a model, or a real estate agent who needs a new picture on the website, or just a really vain carpenter--whatever it is, call them up and let them shoot you! Literally. Right in the face.

More soon....enjoy "Shine"!
